About

It all started. . .

Thank you for taking a minute to look at our website! We started out with a couple of doelings in 2016 and brought a buck home not long afterward. Since then we've come to love the funny, affectionate personalities of these little animals. All our goats are accustomed to little children and are very sweet and manageable.

Our Farm Name:

In case you're wondering where our herd name came from, here is the story behind it:

Barzillai was an Old Testament farmer who first appears in 2 Samuel 17, when King David is fleeing from his usurping son Absalom. Barzillai and some other men provide the weary king and his people with  "beds, basins, and earthen vessels, wheat, barley, flour, parched grain, beans, and lentils, honey and curds and sheep and cheese from the herd . . . for they said, 'The people are hungry and thirsty in the wilderness.' " (2 Sam: 17: 28 -29).

Later, when Absalom has died and the true king is returning to his kingdom, this faithful farmer comes down to meet him and to escort him over the Jordan.

Barzillai stands as a beautiful example of a loyal and godly farmer using God's overflowing blessings toward him to provide for others.
